Good morning from Alaska,
Ok, well, I’m not in Alaska…it just feels like our 50th state here. Last night, as I walked with dogs with my Dad the stars were glorious and abundant. If it wasn’t so stinkin’ cold, I might have broken out in song.
Chris August is one of my favorites..tho come to think of it, I have alotta favs but well, check this out.
Then here’s the whole song: Starry Night
From the birds that sing
In the tallest trees
To the human life
Of you and meFrom the desert sands
To the place we stand
He’s God of all
He is everythingI’m giving my life to the only One
Who makes the moon reflect the sun
Every starry night
That was His designI’m giving my life to the only Son
Who was and is and yet to come
Let the praises ring
‘Cause He is everything
‘Cause He is everythingFrom the autumn leaves
That will ride the breeze
To the faith it takes
To pray and seeFrom the painted sky
To my plank filled eye
He’s God of all
He is everything, whoaI’m giving my life to the only One
Who makes the moon reflect the sun
Every starry night
That was His designI’m giving my life to the only Son
Who was and is and yet to come
Let the praises ring
‘Cause He is everything
EverythingHallelujah, hallelujah
I believe, oh, oh
Hallelujah, hallelujah
I believeI’m giving my life to the only One
Who makes the moon reflect the sun
On that starry night
He changed my lifeI’m giving it all to the only Son
Who gave me hope when I had none
So let the praises ringI’m giving my life to the only One
Who makes the moon reflect the sun
Every starry night
It was His designI’m giving my life to the only Son
Who was and is and yet to come
Every angel sings
That He is heavenlySo let the praises ring
‘Cause He is everything
I’m loving me that line “to my plank-filled eyes”..before I..
3…stare from without at the [b]very small particle that is in your brother’s eye but do not become aware of and consider the beam [c]of timber that is in your own eye?
4Or how can you say to your brother, Let me get the tiny particle out of your eye, when there is the beam [d]of timber in your own eye?
5You hypocrite, first get the beam of timber out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the tiny particle out of your brother’s eye.
Going back to my topic yesterday, I cannot stress enough what a powerful movie that was in my life. The Wizard of Oz…good grief, it just hit me that I never dressed up as Dorothy! MAJOR digress…I’m back from my history tour..sorry.
Anyway, these guys, if you remember, each had their foibles. They each had a reason to seek out the Wizard. Yet, when it came down to saving Dorothy, they transformed into what they thought they could never be. Scarecrow made a plan, came up with options and protected Dorothy at cost it his life (fire). Tin Man sympathized and hurt for Dorothy yet he had courage as he broke down that door. Cowardly Lion climbed that mountain, (wanted to back out but didn’t), faced the Witch..What made them do it? They forgot themselves and thought only of saving Dorothy. Love. Yes, I’m back to it.
4Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
5It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].
6It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
How about you? How about me? I have so much to learn about love. I imagine Paul putting the word love in the middle of the page and webbing all the different ways love affects so much. (No proof here, it’s what I would do..)Without love, with love, examples of love..
Now, put yourself in the middle of the web. When you get down to their level and truly listen to your children. When you stop texting, adding new apps to your phone or checking your Facebook account, look your husband in the eye and ask him how he is doing. Not walking by the man on the street who holds the sign. Or the woman in the grocery store with tears in her eyes. Not thinking about what you are going to say next, but actually listen to what your friend is saying.
I’m just sayin’…It’s all coming back to…
Luke 9: 23And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [[g]disown himself, [h]forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, [i]refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [[j]cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also].
Pray on, friends. Pray on…
