Good morning, beloved,
I think God is having fun with His beloved child today. And I’m smiling with Him. Last night, I drank a lovely latte too late in the afternoon..and paid for it with not sleeping well. When I did fall asleep, someone had set an alarm on my phone for 12:15am…falling asleep again after playing how fast can my heart race..then for some reason my eyes peeped open at 4am. And there I have stayed. So I have started my blog. And I opened some of my favorite sites and this beautiful picture of a bed by Van Gogh was illustrated today..and then it thundered loudly outside…which is typical because I have to take Ella downtown today. 🙂
Yet the hymn, How Great Thou Art, remind me, to put my praise in the right place. No matter my sleep. No matter how I “feel”. I need to pick up, place my hand in His and ask Him most humbly..to fill me with His Spirit today.
A prayer by Thomas Ken from the 1700s…
Awake, my soul, and with the sun
Thy daily stage of duty run;
Shake off dull sloth, and joyful rise,
To pay thy morning sacrifice.By influence of the Light divine
Let thy own light to others shine.
Reflect all Heaven’s propitious ways
In ardent love, and cheerful praise.Lord, I my vows to Thee renew;
Disperse my sins as morning dew.
Guard my first springs of thought and will,
And with Thyself my spirit fill.Direct, control, suggest, this day,
All I design, or do, or say,
That all my powers, with all their might,
In Thy sole glory may unite.Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
I must go and get the kids going. Pray on loved ones. Pray on…
