Good morning, beloved,
There is a bird boldly proclaiming the good news that it is morning outside. The rest are not seeming so eager to get on the bandwagon. He does not seem to mind. He is belting his song out with pride! He isn’t waiting for the sun to shine. He isn’t waiting for some event. He has just started his song. Nobody has to join him for him to start his praise. I love it. (Course he could be trying to find his women…)
Let’s not stop singing about the Resurrection. Let’s not stop talking about what our Mighty God has accomplished on our behalf. Behold the Hall of Mirrors in the picture above…friends, that is nothing to what awaits you when you behold the glory and majesty of the Trinity.
I’m excited about our next days in this blog. I want to walk the next steps of these beloved, sweet disciples as they scrambled to understand, comprehend, prepare…want to come along? As many churches have walked away from the liturgical calendar, (mine included) we have missed out on remembering and abiding in the wonder and beauty of those first months after the Resurrection!
Hebrews 1: 2 [But] in [a]the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order].
3He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the [b]out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high,
4[Taking a place and rank by which] He Himself became as much superior to angels as the glorious Name (title) which He has inherited is different from and more excellent than theirs.
🙂 So what have we learned about just Jesus from just this passage?
- God has spoken to us in the person of Jesus
- God has appointed Jesus Heir [in Messianic usage, one who receives his allotted possession by right of sonship]
- Also the lawful Owner of all things
- By and through Whom He created the worlds, and reaches of space and ages of time
- Jesus is the SOLE expression of the GLORY of God
- Jesus is the perfect imprint and very image of God’s nature
- When He had BY offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt…
- Jesus THEN sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high
- Jesus became much superior to angels as the glorious Name which He inherited
- This title is different from the angels and far superior.
Tomorrow: What can we learn from…Thomas?
Pray on.
