We have snow today, covering the branches, the rooftops, the cars. I watched it fall last night with bewilderment and stunned amusement. I mean, why not? Here’s what I must choose. I’ll chose to still walk my puppy in it today. And we are venturing out to try and give blood. IF you are healthy and you can, they are begging for people to do the same.
I will continue to be praying. I am watching God move in powerful ways, in small ways, and yet, the virus has not abated. So, we continue to pray. We continue to be housebound, well, other than to go give blood. If I could sew, maybe I’d try to make those masks…
Today, I opened my Youversion Bible app and found people had shared prayers with me. I’m actually quite intrigued by this, and would love to utilize this more. So, if we are not friends on the Youversion Bible app, why not? Or if you don’t have the app, go get it.
1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
3 For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
So, let’s review. All who dwell in the shelter. Make sure you have made the Lord your shelter. Make sure you have not put your trust in any man-made item. You may say I haven’t. Where do you first go when the storms hit? Run to him first. He is your first comfort. He is your first refuge. Trust him with all of this.
He’ll rescue you from all of this. He will cover you. We have to stop trying to coming up with a plan B, just in case. This morning I did a comparison study of two Old Testament people, Rahab and Achan. May I recommend you do the same? See the effect of their choices, their faith and their movements. We can choose this day whom we will serve.
Let us put our hope in God alone. Courage in God alone. His faithfulness will be our shield. Peace
