I’m watching the wind blow this morning. In our area, we are suppose to rake leaves to the curb and our waste management program will come by weekly to pick them up. well, today, i watching all our neighbors’ hard work fly into my yard. We’ve not raked yet because our trees still have not dropped. Holding on until we can no longer rake to the curb.
I wonder if I don’t really fit in this neighborhood. Across the street are perfectly trimmed bushes and signs that say harvest. I have some bush, tree maybe? Growing in my front yard. No clue if I should trim it or uproot it. The later would take a lot more work so, I’m just wondering what this plant will do.
Inside my house, I’ve spent the morning with the Bible Project YouTube and working through my study of the Old Testament. Around me are sleeping humans and dogs. I love where I am sitting right now with my windows watching the outside world.
These last months have been al to of me sitting. Someone recently asked me what I have learned.
I’ve learned listening to the Bible is truly the most comforting thing i can do. I’ve learned that my window to the world has great beauty in colors, displays of God’s beauty in people walking by, dogs, cats. I’ve learned to value health. to no longer be in a constant state of dizziness is such a gift. Pain plagues me, but I’m realizing God is using this as well.
I’ve learned my story isn’t just about me. I’m surrounded by humans that need to hear God’s truth. My life isn’t to applaud my glory, it is to applaud the one who gave me life. This is his story. May i bring him glory today.
