I’m looking through my old posts that I never hit publish. So here is one I need today.
I’m sitting in verses today that speak of the nearness of God. A question I hear in times of tragedy, where is God? I’ve asked it too. So this is my post to remind myself, and maybe you too.
Psalm 73:28
”But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, That I may tell of all Your works.“

Psalm 84:10-11
”For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.“

Psalms 145:18-20
”The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He will also hear their cry and will save them. The Lord keeps all who love Him, But all the wicked He will destroy.“

Lamentations 3:22-26
”The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him. It is good that he waits silently For the salvation of the Lord.“

Luke 15:18-20
”I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired men.” ’ So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.“

Hebrews 10:19-22
”Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.“

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
”Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.“

I read through each one just now and my heart buoyed. I recall and remember. Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Ephesians 6:10 NASB My most difficult problem or circumstances hold nothing to the power and strength of Christ.
I lean on Christ. I do not place my trust in what I see. That messes me up. I learn contentment by flooding my mind with truth. My trust is anchored in the One who is Faithful. 1 Thessalonians 5.
I have a precious little sign that sits across from me as I write every day.
Give it to God and go to sleep. My heart and mind, give it to God and live in His truth. Not my own.
