Sometimes, a day begins and it’s just not my best start. I started yesterday upset and shaken by conversations, events, circumstances, and had a migraine. Most were out of my control. I’m not even going to try to be poetical here. I sat with my head in my hands staring at my Bible. My head just hurt.
I’ll tell you though. God showed up in beautiful ways throughout the whole day. I’m home, right? Yet, as the day moved along, I saw it. A delivery was made that was unexpected. Phone calls that were unexpected. A walk with my pup where people took the time to leave messages in the gravel and in stones. Friends, we may think that these are little things. They are not.
So, what are we doing today? What am I going to do with my day today? I have a prayer list today. I’m keeping it open and keeping it with me. The list is getting longer. Job loss. A sweet boy in chemo today. Friends sick. Depression rearing its ugly head in sweet people. Churches connecting well in this time. Medical professionals’ safety. Restaurant workers’ safety.
The first photo. My puppy. Comfort. Let’s be comfort to one another today. Allow Jesus to be our anchor today. Allow His word to be our anchor today. Remind us that he is faithful.
1 I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth!
3 He will not let you stumble;
the one who watches over you will not slumber.
4 Indeed, he who watches over Israel
never slumbers or sleeps.
5 The Lord himself watches over you!
The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
6 The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon at night.
7 The Lord keeps you from all harm
and watches over your life.
8 The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever.
Walk in his peace today.
