Biblegateway’s verse of the day:
“For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].” Ephesians 6:12-13
Can I get an amen? How very relevant to our focus of our desire for the Word! While this isn’t the day’s focus, when I read it I prayed our eyes would be open and that we would see the critical importance that the Word plays in our every moment. When we realize that holding the Word (which Paul calls “sword that the Spirit [d]wields, which is the Word of God.” Eph. 6:17b) in our hearts and minds can change a moment from darkness to light, there is some perspective received.
No longer is this just a nice little book that looks good on a shelf..it is your sword in battle. Your daily battle! Now, here is a picture of some swords. They are Viking..but still, you can get the idea..

In each moment of our day, we can pull out our sword. A dear friend of mine, Kim, gave me a scarf and blessed me with Psalm 46:” 10Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!” http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=psalm%2046&version=AMP
Another dear friend gave me a prayer shawl that I covered over our son before his MRI last week and images of the prayers of the saints (you all) came to me very strongly. Revelation 5:“7He then went and took the scroll from the right hand of Him Who sat on the throne.
8And when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders [[a]of the heavenly Sanhedrin] prostrated themselves before the Lamb. Each was holding a harp (lute or guitar), and they had golden bowls full of incense (fragrant spices and gums for burning), which are the prayers of God’s people (the saints).”
But I will be honest as well, and tell you that the Spirit is convicting me to listen to what He is pouring forth! When I am in the midst of my day, expecting my children to be perfect and they fall short, what will my response be today? When someone cuts me off in traffic, when I lose my way, when my husband doesn’t say the perfect thing, am I going to fight the feelings of self-righteousness crop up or will I lose my temper and say something rude? My desire for the Word to pour forth from my lips is strong! Yet I know..Matthews 26: 41All of you must keep awake (give strict attention, be cautious and active) and watch and pray, that you may not come into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. (That’s our Jesus by the way in the Garden..)
So for me, I need to put on my scarf. I need to write out our prayer verses today on a notecard and put it in my back pocket! Or how about when my internet goes down in the middle of my typing? Or I can’t get on youtube to post a video for you all? I start to get all huffy..and what is the result? My focus is off the One who is teaching me a hard lesson today.
Let this song ring through your heads:
Remind Me Who I Am!

You are beloved.
Prayer focus verses: Psalm 1:1-2
1[a]BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.
2But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.
3And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].
4Not so the wicked [those disobedient and living without God are not so]. But they are like the chaff [worthless, dead, without substance] which the wind drives away.
5Therefore the wicked [those disobedient and living without God] shall not stand [justified] in the judgment, nor [b]sinners in the congregation of the righteous [those who are upright and in right standing with God].
6For the Lord knows and is fully acquainted with the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly [those living outside God’s will] shall perish (end in ruin and come to nought). http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=psalm%201&version=AMP
Let’s make it easy for you! How about a song from Kim Hill on Psalm 1?
Pray on friends! Pray on!
