There’s a song that rings in my head this morning, “Jesus, Thank You.” This one phrase, “once your enemy, now seated at your table, Jesus, thank you.”
I am not sure if this will hit, but have you ever been so cold and come in and let a hot beverage warm your hands, taken a sip and felt the warmth all the way down? And all of a sudden, you are no longer bone chilling cold? For me, hands and feet are always cold.haha.
This is a picture of accepting the peace of Christ found only through accepting his sacrifice. Once your body was dead, and now, we have his death and resurrection bringing our entire beings back to life. We are reconciled because of his death. Let me share the verses
“For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven. And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach— if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.”
Colossians 1:19-23 NASB1995
Starting in vs 19, God was pleased for all the fullness to dwell, I’ll be honest, I was going to bop on by this and then I cross referenced..gotta share. Lol.
“in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Colossians 2:3 NASB1995

We really don’t stop and think about Jesus. All the treasures. He knows our next step. My toiling and worrying over what to do seems lost in light of this truth. He knows my days. All of them. He asks me to trust him in circumstances that don’t make sense. Trust. Rest in his wisdom and knowledge. Peace.
“John *testified about Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’ ” For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.”
John 1:15-18 NASB1995

John the Baptist testified. He knew that Jesus was higher. Greater. The Apostle John declares we have all received this fullness. This grace. This truth. We need this so much.
So, today, I take a deep breath and I give thanks. And I look back to Colossians 1:9-13.
“For this reason, since the day we heard about it, we have not stopped praying for you, asking [specifically] that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [with insight into His purposes], and in understanding [of spiritual things], so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord [displaying admirable character, moral courage, and personal integrity], to [fully] please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing in the knowledge of God [with deeper faith, clearer insight and fervent love for His precepts]; [we pray that you may be] strengthened and invigorated with all power, according to His glorious might, to attain every kind of endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints (God’s people) in the Light.”

Friends, as a child of God, we are filled. I’m writing this prayer out. And committing it to memory. Christ is filled. We are filled. Let us live with this knowledge!
