I had one of those days yesterday. Pulled in a million directions, the kids and I had one of those “really” days and you have to know what I mean by that. You finally look at one another and just say, “really?” At one point I felt like Donald Duck, I was just so frustrated with one of my ducklings. Ahem. It wasn’t pretty, at all. I just couldn’t be everything to everyone. I felt helpless, hopeless, hapless, any other h’s in there?? Argh! And, I went to my children’s piano lesson and thought here’s my chance…and saw a man with 1 Corintians books laid out all over…you can imagine. I have to ask.

He home schools his sweet grandson. God bless him and his wife. And he is the pastor of a church. And I just had to listen and ask questions. It was wonderful, wishing for more time, more space. Then a recurring theme began to occur over the rest of the night in things I heard and saw…you have everything you need to be a great _____ in Christ Jesus. (you fill in that blank) For me it is wife and mother, for you it may be different, you are called to a different road.
Today, in a full culmination of a week of hard work and love of my Father and humbling myself to say, I am a total sinner unworthy of His love and mercy and grace yet so stinking grateful for every bit of it, I say I need to remind myself of who I am in the Trinity. How about you? You need to remember today?
1. I am faithful…Ephesians 1:1 to the saints (the consecrated, set-apart ones)…who are also faithful and loyal and steadfast in Christ Jesus..
2. I am God’s child…John 1:12 But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name–
3. I have been justified…Romans 5:1 THEREFORE, SINCE we are justified ([a]acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to [b]enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
4. I am Christ’s friend…I do not call you servants (slaves) any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing (working out). But I have called you My friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from My Father. [I have revealed to you everything that I have learned from Him.]
5. I belong to God…1 Corinthians 6:20 You were bought with a price [purchased with a[a]preciousness and paid for, [b]made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.
Now before I go on, I’m not any of those things on my merit. Nosireebob. This is all because of Him! I need to remember this..I need to cry this out in the moment! Hanging on…
I’m leaving you with five truths today. I need to ponder these five. God bless you today. God keep you. He just loves you soooo much. You are His beloved!
