Good morning, friends,
During the wee hours of the morning, the Lord reminded me of a passage that my son is memorizing. The passage overwhelms me. I’ve shared here before about John’s impact in my understanding of Jesus and His heart. (click here) However these verses just choke me up. I think the choking up process begins when I read the passage and “I suppose”… pops up. Simple statement. I chuckle at how John refers to himself in the rest of the Gospel as the “beloved disciple“. Here he breaks that voice and realizes he could write forever…
24 It is this same disciple who is bearing witness to these things and who has recorded (written) them; and we [well] know that his testimony is true.
25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did. If they should be all recorded one by one [in detail], I suppose that even the world itself could not contain (have room for) the books that would be written. John 21 (AMP)
Think of this. I want to read those books. I want to hear more. Do you? I want to hear more about God‘s birth announcement of His Son. I want to know more about what kind of baby He was. My kids, every year, ask, seriously, Mom, did He really not cry? I want to know more about His discussions with the Pharisees when He wandered back to the synagogue.
I also hear a sadness that John cannot tell all the stories. I thank God for the stories He has given us.
36. I’m so thankful for Jesus today how He brings the Word to my mind and encourages me to press on.
37. I’m thankful for Christmas stories that remind me of the wonder of hearing the story of Christmas for the first time.
38. I’m thankful for all the prayers and encouragement people send me.
Pray on. Pray on.
