God saw all that he had made and it was very good indeed. Even came and then morning: the sixth day.
Genesis 1:31
Very good indeed. Joy. Our God was joyful at his creation. He saw. He was joyful.
Makes me think of Hebrews 12;2:
“[looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].”
Hebrews 12:2 AMP
The joy set before Him..Jesus reconciled us to himself. He closed the chasm between us. The beginning of creation brought God the Father joy. The sin bearer, Jesus, destroyed all that followed afterwards. His blood washed away our sins and the goal being accomplished brought him joy. It wasn’t the cross that held him there, it was his love for us that kept him there.
That is joy. Joy doesn’t look at my circumstances and lose heart. Joy brings my sorrows and joys to his feet and remembers. He knows best. He is the best. And he will do the best.
Joy be with you today.
