I was on Biblegateway this morning and found a neat resource this morning that starts on June 1. They are starting a devo with Dietrich Bonhoeffer‘s writings that you can sign up for and have emailed to you every morning for 40 days. Not sure when I’ll fit that in..but I want to try. 🙂 Here’s the link.
Also, I have been reading a remarkable book this week, now I will say I have 3/4 of the way through but so far, I keep interrupting Joshua and whatever he is doing to read him portions…he just loves that. 🙂 Can’t help myself. It’s that good.

Today, I am diving back into the words of the Savior. May I handle them with care and may the Lord direct and guide.
We are going through Matthew 5-7 and looking for mentions of kingdom of heaven and righteousness. And what we can learn from the mentions. Let’s start up. 🙂 Definitions in the Greek first! 🙂
Kingdom–basileia-of the royal power and dignity conferred on Christians in the Messiah’s kingdom
of Heaven–ouranos-the region above the sidereal heavens, the seat of order of things eternal and consummately perfect where God dwells and other heavenly beings
Righteousness–dikaiosynÄ“–is found in the sayings of the Lord Jesus, of whatever is right or just in itself, whatever conforms to the revealed will of God,

3 Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the poor in spirit (the humble, who rate themselves insignificant), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!

21Â Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven.
Kingdom of Heaven…what do we learn? (Hereafter referred to as KOH)
- KOH is for “.. the humble, who rate themselves insignificant..”. This is blessing..
- KOH is for “..those who are being persecuted for the sake of righteousness..”.
- KOH is NOT for “…those who  breaks or does away with or relaxes one of the least [important] of these commandments and teaches men..”.
- KOH is for “…who practices them and teaches others to do so shall be called great…”
- KOH is for “..those whose wills are conformed to God’s will (righteousness-your uprightness and your right standing with God)…
- KOH is for “..those who do not to do your good deeds publicly or before men, to be seen by them…” You do them for God’s rewards…
- Jesus is teaching God’s kingdom to come, His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen!
- The kingdom is God’s and God’s alone..
- Our first aim in life is to seek after, strive after His kingdom(of the royal power and dignity conferred on Christians in the Messiah’s kingdom)…chew on that!
- Lastly, the KOH is for “…he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven.”

I think before I do that list I need to repeat the word Blessing…love this word! “ Blessed and fortunate and happy and spiritually prosperous (in that state in which the born-again child of God enjoys His favor and salvation). ” Please notice the word prosperous and then the word before it. SPIRITUALLY!  Just sayin’. I have never experienced greater peace than these past few years of extended time in His Word and prayer.
- Blessing for those who hunger (to crave ardently, to seek with eager desire) and thirst (those who are said to thirst who painfully feel their want of, and eagerly long for, those things by which the soul is refreshed, supported, strengthened) for RIGHTEOUSNESS for they will be satisfied (to fill or satisfy with food is used metaphorically in Matt. 5:6) . Jesus is using word pictures here! Do you see it? Best teacher EVER! Keeping His audience in His sight. 🙂  Hunger, thirst, satisfaction…all found in the Father!
- Blessings for those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness…
- Your righteousness shall be more than the Pharisees to enter the KOH…a bit of a dig there?
- Seek first after the KOH and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right..) this seems a simple statement but the only way to know His way of doing things is to know His word and His righteousness…
