Good morning, beloved,
I have stared at a blank screen. I have typed a few words. I have deleted them. However, I keep coming back to this thought. For me, discipline is key to my life remaining calm. Getting up early and spending time with the Lord, thanking Him, praising Him, being quiet before Him, before beginning my day with my family. It is life for me. When I begin my day as the kids begin theirs, I lose out on time to listen to His voice. Calm and peace, even for a few moments, bring calm and peace to my full days.
Yesterday, while at co-op, many sweet Moms came up to me and said that the Lord put you on my heart. What fellowship there is in the body of Christ, fighting for it, remaining in the fight to keep community alive, even when it can be painful is life. How often do I think pain equals find somewhere else? Argh! Satan’s lives are death to our souls. Yes, if you read my previous posts, I am truly doing battle in my heart. He is teaching me so much! If only I will listen…
Following a plan for my day…life.
Not giving up on fellowship…life.
Taking a breath…life.
Allowing God’s Spirit to move me…life.
Staying away from distractions…life.
Praising Him…life.
Keeping His word, close…life.
Enjoying my children…life.
Giving thanks…life.
Praying for others (taking the focus off me)…life.
Each one of those life statements has a story behind it. Each one means so much to me. In each one, God has blessed me. When I listen to His voice, friends, when I fight the good fight in my thoughts, when I give Him the glory He is most highly deserved, the Lamb wins. Victory is His. In my flesh, my decisions would be so flesh, self-serving. In His Spirit, my decisions are life.
Come, let’s sing for joy to the Lord.
Let’s shout praises to the Rock [28:1; 42:9; 62:2; Deut. 32:4] who ·saves us [gives us victory].
2 Let’s ·come [present ourselves] to him with ·thanksgiving [praise].
Let’s ·sing songs [shout psalms] to him,
3 because the Lord is the great God,
the great King over all gods [Ex. 15:11].
4 The deepest places on earth are ·his [L in his hand],
and the ·highest [peaks of the] mountains belong to him.
5 The sea is his because he made it,
and he created the ·land [dry ground] with his own hands.
This is His day, friends. He is our great God. He is over all. He has made it all.
My thankfuls today:
Three gifts seen as reflections (Ann Voskamp, Joy Dare):
193. My kids, reflecting my thoughts and behaviors, gifts that shake me up from comfort into life changes.
194. God’s gift to show me this truth, they catch on to my mood and reflect it to their siblings, good or bad.
195. I am thankful for our lake. I am thankful.
Praying for our pastor:
Pray that your pastor will think biblically, with the mind of Christ. (1 Cor. 2:16; Col. 2:6- 8; Eph. 4:17)
Praying for our pastor’s wife:
Pray that your pastor’s wife will think biblically—with the mind of Christ—and practice the expression of her faith with boldness in places of influence. (Ps. 119:46) (Revive our Hearts)
Pray on. Pray on.
