Good morning!
Snow covers the land infusing the world around us with brightness and white brilliance. I love snow!
Webster’s defines white as “free from color”. Think about that. Check out this sweet little bird.
The white is so white. The black is so black. And then there’s that red…a verse that flashes through my mind:
Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool.
The idea of purity is not something we can accomplish within ourselves. Can I get an amen? This verse starts with..
Come now (halak): to go, to walk, to come (http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?strongs=H1980
The Lord is inviting us to come to Him. Yet, to be in His presence, sin must be dealt with immediately.
Reason (yakach): to prove, decide, judge, rebuke, reprove, correct, be right (http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?strongs=H3198)
This is a relationship. The Lord invites us into a relationship. The Lord longs to wash us white and tabernacle together.
Before I give you the prayer focus, let me share a quote from Lysa Terkeurst that gives a picture to help us.
“God can take what Satan meant for shame and use it for His glory. Just when we think we’ve messed up so badly that our lives are nothing but heaps of ashes, God pours His living water over us and mixes the ashes into clay. He then takes this clay and molds it into a vessel of beauty. After He fills us with His overflowing love, He can use us to pour His love into the hurting lives of others.” (http://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/61792.Lysa_TerKeurst)
Beauty for ashes! His purposes are so good. Here is the prayer focus: purity.
1 Peter 1: 15 But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living.
16For it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy.
17And if you call upon Him as [your] Father Who judges each one impartially according to what he does, [then] you should conduct yourselves with true reverence throughout the time of your temporary residence [on the earth, whether long or short].
18You must know (recognize) that you were redeemed (ransomed) from the useless (fruitless) way of living inherited by tradition from [your] forefathers, not with corruptible things [such as] silver and gold,
19But [you were purchased] with the precious blood of Christ (the Messiah), like that of a [sacrificial] lamb without blemish or spot.
Dear friends, we are redeemed with the costly blood of Jesus. No blackness found in Him. Nothing. He is our remedy. So as we pray for our spouses, family and self, allow the gratitude of the sacrifice bring us to our knees. Lift up your loved ones to Him and know that He is our only remedy. Fall at His feet.
So to finish up, praise Him! David Crowder Band: Remedy; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afgwvO5GI4Y
Pray on, friends. Pray on.
