Good morning prayer friends, Again the biblegateway.com has an amazing verse of the day. And I can’t help but share it with you all. So much to be found in this verse alone but I will digress and you’ll see a novel..can’t help but say an AMEN to this verse tho…
So brace up your minds; be sober (circumspect, morally alert); set your hope wholly and unchangeably on the grace (divine favor) that is coming to you when Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is revealed.” 1 Peter 1:13 AMP
Here are the verses and prayer focus; relationships. I can’t delve into a beautiful section of Scripture without including the surrounding verses. 🙂 Context. Context. Context. As Kay Arthur would say. I actually would encourage you to spend some time in Hebrews 10. Open your Bible and hang out there for awhile as the Lord leads ya. ;0)
(the verses are actually 24 and 25 of Hebrews 10..)
21And since we have [such] a great and wonderful and noble Priest [Who rules] over the house of God,
22Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by [b]that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.
23So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the [c]hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it, for He Who promised is reliable (sure) and faithful to His word.
24And let us consider and give [d]attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities,
25Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.
26For if we go on deliberately and willingly sinning after once acquiring the knowledge of the Truth, there is no longer any sacrifice left to atone for [our] sins [no further offering to which to look forward].
The writer of Hebrews packs so much in these two verses but lets look..
Consider means to
1) to perceive, remark, observe, understand
2) to consider attentively, fix one’s eyes or mind upon
Romans 12: 9[Let your] love be sincere (a real thing); hate what is evil [loathe all ungodliness, turn in horror from wickedness], but hold fast to that which is good.10Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence and showing honor to one another.
So when we are loving and taking care of our relationships, look what flows out: sincerity, goodness, affection, precedence to others and honor. Such a thing to pray for!
Psalm 41:1BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, to be envied) is he who considers the weak and the poor; the Lord will deliver him in the time of evil and trouble. 2The Lord will protect him and keep him alive; he shall be called blessed in the land; and You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.
Not only will this flow out of us, the Lord has blessing for those who “keep ones mind upon” the destitute and He will pour out deliverance and protection. We are here to be His workmanship..right?
Romans 15 1WE WHO are strong [in our convictions and of robust faith] ought to bear with the failings and the frailties and the tender scruples of the weak; [we ought to help carry the doubts and qualms of others] and not to please ourselves.
2Let each one of us make it a practice to please (make happy) his neighbor for his good and for his true welfare, to edify him [to strengthen him and build him up spiritually].
3For Christ did not please Himself [gave no thought to His own interests]; but, as it is written, The reproaches and abuses of those who reproached and abused you fell on Me.
4For whatever was thus written in former days was written for our instruction, that by [our steadfast and patient] endurance and the encouragement [drawn] from the Scriptures we might hold fast to and cherish hope.
5Now may the God Who gives the power of patient endurance (steadfastness) and Who supplies encouragement, grant you to live in such mutual harmony and such full sympathy with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,
So much could be said on this..but look to our example. Look to the One who gave it all..
Provoke denotes “a stimulation” (Eng., “paroxysm”), (cp. B, No. 2): in Hbr 10:24, “to provoke,” lit., “unto a stimulation (of love)
Romans 11 4But what is God’s reply to him? I have kept for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal! [I Kings 19:18.]
5So too at the present time there is a remnant (a small believing minority), selected (chosen) by grace (by God’s unmerited favor and graciousness).
6But if it is by grace (His unmerited favor and graciousness), it is no longer conditioned on works or anything men have done. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace [it would be meaningless].
So encourage one another with these words!! Stimulate others to relationships with others that result in the Lord counting us as one of the seven thousand.
2 Corinthians 8 7Now as you abound and excel and are at the front in everything–in faith, in expressing yourselves, in knowledge, in all zeal, and in your love for us–[see to it that you come to the front now and] abound and excel in this gracious work [of almsgiving] also.
8I give this not as an order [to dictate to you], but to prove, by [pointing out] the zeal of others, the sincerity of your [own] love also.
By our love, they will know us by our love and our Godly zeal..
And finally..LOVE..from Vine’s,
“Love had its perfect expression among men in the Lord Jesus Christ, 2Cr 5:14; Eph 2:4; 3:19; 5:2; Christian love is the fruit of His Spirit in the Christian, Gal 5:22.
“Christian love has God for its primary object, and expresses itself first of all in implicit obedience to His commandments, Jhn 14:15, 21, 23; 15:10; 1Jo 2:5; 5:3; 2Jo 1:6. Self-will, that is, self-pleasing, is the negation of love to God.
And I’ll finish with this from Philippians 1 which I pray over all of you now…
9And this I pray: that your love may abound yet more and more and extend to its fullest development in knowledge and all keen insight [that your love may [d]display itself in greater depth of acquaintance and more comprehensive discernment],
10So that you may surely learn to sense what is vital, and approve and prize what is excellent and of real value [recognizing the highest and the best, and distinguishing the moral differences], and that you may be untainted and pure and unerring and blameless [so that with hearts sincere and certain and unsullied, you may approach] the day of Christ [not stumbling nor causing others to stumble].
11May you abound in and be filled with the fruits of righteousness (of right standing with God and right doing) which come through Jesus Christ (the Anointed One), to the honor and praise of God [[e]that His glory may be both manifested and recognized].
May God bless you as you pray and seek Him. May His beautiful face shine upon you and keep you from harm.
