I went to sleep weighed down by concerns of this world. I woke up with the same concerns. And slowly, quietly, I began to remember my post from yesterday and the words: “…thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through him and for him.”Colossians 1;16 HSCB
Each of us has something in our life, right now, that we are not sure of the outcome. Not sure how this will play out. Maybe it is personal. Professional. In the life of a family member or friend. In our country. Or the world. I type that out and I can pin point mine exactly. And I bet you can too. If I allow myself, I can dissolve in tears and fears. I look around and see people who look like they have it all together.
And then I am reminded of what I just wrote.
We each have something in our life that hurts.
Early this morning, King Charles had his coronation. I’ve seen some pictures. He’s been given this kingship because of his lineage, we have been granted adoption by Christ’s blood. Just as Charles did nothing other than be born a royal, we have done nothing to deserve Christ’s mercy and grace except to accept it.
Charles’ throne will end and his son will take the throne in his place. No one will take Christ’s place. He is:
“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.”
Colossians 1:17-18 NASB1995
Okay, so I put this down. I write this down. He knows what is going on in my little life. He holds it all together. He holds your life all together. He sees the outcome and says that:
“In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:26-28 NASB1995
When we do not know how to pray, thank you Spirit. Thank you for praying on our behalf. Thank you for interceding on our behalf. Search our hearts, O God, test my thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me. Lead me in the way of deliverance. i want your joy today. I want to experience your presence today.
Thrones, dominions, rulers, authorities…He is above them all. He is my answer. He has your answer. Thank you for reading.
